MoonCycleTerms of use
Version 2026-10-21 · Last updated 21 October 2026
1. About these terms
These terms are a licence agreement between you and IONCODEX LTD (company number 16798601, registered office 127 Calshot Road, Birmingham, B42 2BZ, England), the provider of MoonCycle ("we", "us"). They apply to the MoonCycle app on any device and to mooncycle.fit. By creating an account, you agree to them. Please also read our privacy policy.
2. Who can use MoonCycle
You must be 18 or over. MoonCycle is offered in the United Kingdom.
3. Your licence to use the app
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use MoonCycle on devices you own or control, for your own private use. You may not:
- copy, modify, sell, rent or distribute the app, except as the law allows;
- try to reverse engineer it, except where the law permits this;
- use it to break the law, or to harm, harass, monitor or control another person;
- try to access other people's accounts or data, or interfere with our servers.
4. Health information
- Predictions of periods, fertile days and cycle phases are estimates based on what you log. They can be wrong, especially if your cycles vary, and they are affected by contraception, pregnancy, breastfeeding, illness and life stage.
- MoonCycle is not contraception. Do not rely on it to avoid or achieve pregnancy.
- Insight cards and partner tips are general information, written from public health sources such as the NHS. They are not personal medical advice and do not replace a professional's judgement.
- Never ignore professional advice, or delay seeking it, because of something in MoonCycle.
- In an emergency, call 999. For urgent advice that is not an emergency, call NHS 111 or visit 111.nhs.uk.
5. Your account
Use your own email address and keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us at mooncycle_contact@ioncodex.org if you think someone else has used it. You can delete your account at any time in the app.
6. Sharing with a partner
Partner sharing is optional and off by default. You choose exactly what your partner can see, and you can stop sharing at any time. If you connect as someone's partner, you agree to treat what they share with care and respect, to use it only to support them, and never to pressure, monitor or embarrass them with it.
7. Our content
MoonCycle, its design, text and artwork belong to us or our licensors. Information from NHS websites is used under the Open Government Licence, with links to the original. What you log belongs to you.
8. Changes and availability
MoonCycle is currently free. We may update, change or stop features, for example to improve the app or for legal or security reasons. If we change these terms in a way that matters, the app will ask you to agree to the new version. We aim to keep the app available, but we cannot promise that it will always work without interruption.
9. Our responsibility to you
- If you are a consumer, you have legal rights, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, that these terms do not affect. The app must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality.
- We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
- We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for business losses, or for decisions you make based on estimates and general information in the app, to the extent the law allows.
10. Ending these terms
You can stop using MoonCycle and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, for example by misusing partner sharing, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents us.
11. If you downloaded MoonCycle from Apple's App Store
- These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app, its content, maintenance and support.
- Your licence is to use the app on Apple-branded products you own or control, as allowed by the App Store's Usage Rules.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, which will refund any purchase price (MoonCycle is free); to the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for any claims about the app, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection claims, and claims that it infringes someone else's intellectual property.
- You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a US government embargo, and not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts where you live.
